In its 133-year history our church has belonged to three Methodist Denominations: The Methodist Episcopal South (since 1890), The Methodist Church (since 1939) and The United Methodist Church (since 1968).

On May 1, 2022 a brand new Methodist Denomination was launched called, The Global Methodist Church. And on February 5, 2023 our church voted by over 90% to join. We believe the Global Methodist Church will be a better home for our congregation because of its conservative stance on social issues and its traditional interpretation of scripture and doctrine.

The Global Methodist Church is a Holy Spirit inspired movement with a mission to "make disciples of Jesus Christ who worship passionately, love extravagantly and witness boldly."
